At Tea Tree Hollow we want to make everyone's stay as enjoyable as possible, and are committed to providing suitable access for all our guests, whatever their individual needs. We aim to accurately describe our facilities to give you the confidence to book our self-catering holiday house for your specific requirements.
Getting There
Tea Tree Hollow is Located at 82 Dairy Road Brayton NSW 2579.
IMPORTANT NOTE : USING GPS APPS - GOOGLE MAPS and APPLE MAPS
Type in 'Tea Tree Hollow Holiday Rental House' or '84 Dairy Road, Brayton' in order to get to accurate directions. Typing in '82 Dairy Road' will take you to the wrong property.
The property is 2 hours drive from Sydney CBD and 1.5 hours from Canberra. Most of the journey is on sealed roads except for 8km of dirt roads (if travelling from Marulan) or 20kms of dirt roads (if travelling from Canyonleigh). The dirt roads are generally smooth, however they can deteriorate with heavy rain which forms corrugations and large potholes and sometimes small wash aways. The journey can be accessed by any 2 wheel drive vehicle, we recommend driving no more than 60km/hour on these dirt roads and 50km/hour at night to minimise interaction with native animals.
Arrival
There is an unlocked farm gate to open at the property boundary. Guests will then drive up a dirt driveway, 200m long from the gate to the parking area. There is a level gravel parking area in front of the house. Some of the gravel is 40mm blue metal aggregate.
Parking
The parking area is clear and level, however it is not designated as accessible parking. There is parking for at least four passenger cars.
Main Entrance
The house is accessed by 4 steps leading to the front door. There are handrails on either side. The front door swings outwards towards the guest, there is a landing at the top of the steps to stand. The front door is narrow and unfortunately will not accommodate wheelchair access at this time. No ramp exists for the front door or the back verandah.
Getting around inside
There is level access to all rooms in the house. There are hard floors in the living, kitchen, bathroom and hallways, all the bedrooms are carpeted. The hallways are narrow, 900mm wide. All bedroom doors are 770mm wide.
The toilets have no accessibility hardware installed. The house toilets are the only ones on the property.
To access the verandah there is a small aluminium door profile to navigate over. The verandah is level and made of hardwood with small gaps in between. There are 4 steps leading from the back verandah to the ground, with one handrail on the left.
Queen bedroom with ensuite. This is the biggest room and can accomodate a travel cot, it has a built in wardrobe with hanging space, ample shelving and a spare woollen blanket.
Queen bedroom 2. By shifting the bed and a bedside table you could just fit a travel cot. It has a built in wardrobe with plenty of hanging space, ample shelving and a spare woollen blanket.
Double bedroom. There is limited space around the bed. It is not suitable for cots or prams. It has a built in wardrobe with plenty of hanging space, ample shelving and a spare woollen blanket.
Bunk bedroom. There is a timber framed bunk bed with a timber ladder to the top bunk. It has a built in wardrobe with hanging space, a shelf and two spare single blankets.
Getting around outside
The outdoor entertainment area (bbq/pizza oven) is flagged with pavers, however there are sloping gravel paths leading from the house to it. This area is slightly downhill from the house.
All other attractions including the yoga deck, zen garden and labyrinth are all accessed over the natural terrain, there are no level man-made paths. To access the zen garden, guests must either cross a small stream or pass over a low bridge made from rough uneven logs.
Assistance Dogs and Guide Dogs
Guests with abilities may be accompanied by a certified assistance or guide dog to assist them around the property. We request that our guests (or another guest on behalf of the guest with the abilities) always keep their assistance dog on a leash and remove any dog faeces. Owners are liable for any property damage caused by an assistance dog. Please be aware that there are wild animals (kangaroos, feral goats, wombats etc) and occasionally neighbours sheep roaming the property, sometimes directly outside the house. We are concerned about the unpredictable behaviour between the dog and the wild animals.
Hearing
We do not have a hearing loop installed in the house. We have Foxtel in the living area TV, captions can be enabled using the remote provided, however not all programs may have them.
Visual
We do not have information in large print or in Easy read format.
